Now booking fall mini photo sessions in Carlsbad and San Diego North County!
Mini sessions are a great opportunity to get updated family pictures at a reduced cost than a full session. They are perfect for Christmas cards, senior pictures, maternity photos or updated photos of kids. Mini sessions are shorter than a standard shoot and are great for small kids or reluctant husbands. 😉
Cost: $225. A $25 deposit is required to reserve your spot.
Photos: 15-20 (or more) high-res, fully edited digital images with print release.
Time: Sessions are 20 minutes.
What to expect: Mini sessions are quick, fun and to the point. While we primarily stick to the same physical spot, expect a variety of poses, groupings, and prompts to give you pictures of everyone smiling at the camera, as well as fun “candid” style photos. I will have the pictures to you within 2 weeks.

Location Examples:
Rancho Carrillo in Carlsbad:
Featuring a gorgeous backdrop with blooming bougainvillea, rocky walls and cactus foliage, this spot offers a festive look with multiple background options.
Ample free parking and little walking required to reach this spot.
Path in Carlsbad
This location showcases a meandering path with stunning greenery on both sides. The lighting here is typically a bit more muted and less “glowy” but produces even coloring and steady skin tones.
There is ample free parking here with bathrooms and a playground for later.
Beach in Carlsbad
This beach offers a beautiful sandy path with a lifeguard tower (usually) in the background and open sand. Due to the nature of lighting at the beach, these spots will be very limited to give you the best opportunity for glowy pictures.
**NOTE: Keep in mind – beaches, while beautiful, can also be a little more unpredictable with lighting, tide, fog, wind, crowds, etc. See above for examples of this stunning location in various types of lighting.
San Elijo Hills in San Marcos
This location showcases a glowing, natural setting of light-kissed trees, dried grass and neutral foliage. This wide-open space easily accommodates large groups or small families. Ample free parking here.
Lagoon in Carlsbad
This location showcases meandering green paths, large pampas grass, lagoon backdrops and lots of variety. Yellow flowers should hopefully be in bloom at this time. This location lends itself better to small to medium size families. If you want pictures of the water, aim for one of the later time slots.
Ample free parking. Walking down a short, steep path is required to reach this spot.
Park in La Costa, Carlsbad
This location provides a beautiful backdrop of eucalyptus trees and a pretty rock-lined path. Walking up a short but steep dirt trail is required to reach this spot.

If you are interested in more photos with a greater variety in backgrounds, consider a standard session which offers a lot more options and flexibility.
If you are interested in a mini session but are not available for any of the dates above, please contact me to be added to a wait list. If I get enough interest, I will open more dates.
Please note – your images may differ from examples based on lighting, timing and weather.
A few things:
- A $25 deposit is required at booking to reserve your spot. Please Venmo @JulieNull.
- Remaining $200 will be due at the time of the session.
- In the case of inclement weather, your session will be rescheduled. If rescheduling is not possible, you will be issued a refund.
- Mini sessions are scheduled back-to-back. Your time slot may be shifted slightly to fill gaps. Please arrive on time to give you the most shooting time possible. Late arrivals may result in less time.
- If you need to change your reservation, please reach out. I will do my best to shift times around but it may not be guaranteed.
